Production companies that become members will have the option to put up a profile of their own and put a link to their website on their page.
All production companies will be able to sign up and chose a student intern for free. The only mandatory fee production need to pay is for the interns travel expenses. Companies at their own discretion can also cover food allowance.
Predominately once a production company has chosen their intern for an interview and chosen to give them the internship after said interview www.mise-en-scene.co.uk is no longer liable or responsible for said intern.
Any production company that shows proven misconduct will be stricken from the site and shall not be able to re-apply to www.mise-en-scene.co.uk.
If intern fails to uphold their position and www.mise-en-scene.co.uk is notified by either the production company or their educational institution all said penalties will be put into motion.
All production companies are welcome to notify us of any intern who fails to uphold their position and we will ban said intern within our three strike policy.
Student interns may only sign up for their free profile for as long as their university course runs.
To log in to their page all interns must have a university email address. All interns must have a Showreel or video body of work to upload upon application.
For all completed internships each university intern shall receive credit toward their course from their educational institution should their institution agree to those terms.
For any students that breaks their internships for a non acceptable reason will have their educational institution notified and be penalised.
Before students can sign up they must complete a vetting assessment before being able to join www.mise-en-scene.co.uk.
Once a Educational Institution has chosen to opt in the service they can only opt out once the 12 month period is up. This is to avoid upsetting any student interns that have signed up happily through their educational institutions.
At the start of every 12 month period automatic payment will be taken unless the educational institution has chosen to opt out of the service at the end of any 12 month period.
If on a monthly plan payment will be taken at the end of each month.
If no students achieve an internship under their educational institution’s membership with www.mise-en-scene.co.uk the institution is entitled to a 20% refund, however if the educational institution chooses to repeat their subscription with our service for a new 12 month period no refund will be awarded.
Promotions, vouchers & discounts:
1. BINDING EFFECT.
The Terms & Conditions [“Terms”] outlined herein are a contractual agreement between you and The University Intern, www.mise-en-scene.co.uk [hereinafter “Company”, “The University Intern Ltd”, “www.mise-en-scene.co.uk”, “we”, “us”, “our”] regarding your use of this site. You agree to these terms by affirmatively clicking the “I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions” check box when registering an account with us.
3. ACCOUNT ELIGIBILITY
Users of www.mise-en-scene.co.uk must be aged 18 or older. Individuals under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from using the site. If underage accounts are discovered they shall be terminated.
All users must abide by the United Kingdom’s Laws and accept that by registering an account with us (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) that they are registered as a Sole Trader or limited liability company. Mise-en-scène Ltd is not held responsible or accountable for verifying your legal business status and is therefore exempt from any prosecutions arising from the use of our site. Users remain solely responsible for all activity undertaken in respect of their account and will pay any fees related to www.mise-en-scene.co.uk.
User identification on the internet is difficult, therefore Mise-en-scène Ltd cannot and do not confirm each User’s purported identity.
4. LICENSE TO USE.
Creation of an account with Mise-en-scène Ltd (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) permits to you a limited, terminable, and non-exclusive right to access and use the Site (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) to post and/or respond to employment opportunities. We reserve the right to terminate this license at any time; without cause and in our sole discretion.
5. USER CONTENT.
You authorise Mise-en-scène (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) a license to use the materials you post and upload to the site. By posting, uploading, displaying, performing, downloading, transmitting, or otherwise distributing information or other content (“User Content”) to the site, you authorise and grant Mise-en-scène Ltd, its affiliates, directors, employees, consultants, agents, and representatives a license to use ‘User Content’ in connection with the operation of the Internet business of Mise-en-scène Ltd (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk), its affiliates, directors, employees, consultants, agents, and representatives, including without limitation, a right to copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, translate, and reformat ‘User Content’. You will not be compensated for any ‘User Content’. You agree that Mise-en-scène Ltd may publish and/or disclose your name in connection with your User Content. By posting User Content on the site, you warrant and represent that you own the rights to the User Content or are legally authorised to post, distribute, display, perform, transmit, or otherwise distribute User Content.
6. SERVICES AND FEES
Mise-en-scène Ltd charges users fees for certain services, such as fees for VAT and memberships. Before a payment is received you have the opportunity to review and accept the given fees and that you will be charged the required amount. Users are solely responsible their usage of the site and by confirming their eligibility for an account as a registered business.
When a user awards an internship to another user upon agreed conditions, the two parties will be deemed to have entered a legally binding user contract under which both parties agree to deliver the promised services. You agree not to enter into any contractual provisions in conflict with the User Agreement. You must ensure that you are aware of any domestic laws (including common law), international laws, statutes, ordinances and regulations relevant to you as a booker or booked. We have no responsibility for enforcing any rights under a User Contract. Each User acknowledges and agrees that the relationship between Bookers and Booked is that of an independent contractor. Nothing in this User Agreement shall in any way be construed as forming a partnership, joint venture, or an employer-employee relationship between two users.
www.mise-en-scene.co.uk (Mise-en-scène Ltd) takes a 100% commission from the educational institutions funds as 80% profit and 20% administration cost. This statement is binding and the money is non-transferable.
Mise-en-scène Ltd is not responsible for production companies cancelling an internship resulting in a no internship experience. This is outlined in depth within [17. NO WARRANTIES, 18. LIMITIED LIABILITY].
7. PAYPAL PAYMENTS
Subject to the User Contract, the Buyer can make a ‘Secured’ Payment via the paypal system, which will be locked from the Buyer’s Account and cannot be claimed by the Seller until:
The Buyer and Seller agree that the funds can be claimed by the Seller;
the Buyer acknowledges that the Seller has completed the services fully and satisfactory.
The 100% commission fee and VAT fee stated in [6. SERVICES AND FEES] is withdrawn via the paypal system.
8. ACCOUNT FUNDS
You acknowledge and agree that:
we are not a bank or other licensed financial institution and do not provide banking services or any financial services to you;
to the extent that in event of account cancellation we are required to release funds from your Account to you, you will become our unsecured creditor until such funds are paid to you;
we are not acting as a trustee or fiduciary with respect to such funds or payments;
The funds in your account remain as ‘digital credit’ and as such remain as a digital currency until the fee is withdrawn. Mise-en-scène is not held responsible should issues surrounding online account funds arise. The amount of funds showing in your Account is not insured and is not a guaranteed deposit;
funds may only loaded into your Account, or released from your Account, by us and you must only use the mechanisms available on the Website to pay for, or receive funds in respect of our Mise-en-scène Ltd’s (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) Services;
9. COMMUNICATIONS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK.
You as a USER are solely responsible for any interactions with other users of www.mise-en-scene.co.uk. Mise-en-scène does not actively observe or record user/s communications, but reserve the option to do so if required and facilitate the same including the termination of user accounts.
You must not post your contact information on our website, except in the ‘email’ and ‘phone number’ field’s on our registration page, or on your own profile page. You agree that the email and phone number you provide on your profile page has been listed at your discretion and is visible to other users. Mise-en-scène Ltd’s accepts no responsibility or void of data protection as this is not a required field and has been inserted by your own choice.
You must only communicate with other users via the email address ‘we’ Mise-en-scène Ltd (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) have provided. Email communication is required to send bookers and booked confirmation and contact details from bookers and booked, however, Mise-en-scène Ltd is unable to monitor communications over this channel and the user is solely responsible for any loss of data.
10. CODE OF CONDUCT.
www.mise-en-scene.co.uk are required to conduct and behave themselves responsibly on the site. The following acts constitute a non-exhaustive list of conduct that will result in the termination of your account. Mise-en-scène Ltd in its sole discretion reserves the right to terminate any user account on www.mise-en-scene.co.uk without reason at any time for breaching the code of conduct, damages to reputation, and the usability of the site or the user experience of parties other than the party in question.
You may not impersonate another person or business.
You may not share your account with others or third parties.
You may not solicit or post another party’s username or password.
You may not upload any malware or any invasive software to the site
You may not post employment opportunities on behalf of third parties.
You may not post business or trade secrets from a former or current employer.
You may not post any confidential information from a former or current employer.
You may not post slanderous, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, defamatory, prejudice, abusive, harassing, racist, hateful, sexually explicit, or libelous content or comments in any form.
You may not post sexually explicit material on the site.
You may not post or seek employment opportunities of a sexual nature.
You may not promote any sort of criminal activity.
You may not publish or communicate chain letters.
You may not post false, inaccurate, or misleading information.
You may not promote pyramid schemes or MLM programs.
You may not post copyrighted work or post materials that infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
You may not post advertisements without permissions from Mise-en-scène Ltd.
You may not promote unconsented contests (Approval is required).
Failing to deliver a payment for services delivered to you from Mise-en-scène Ltd
Circumvent/manipulate our billing process, fee structure or fees owed to Mise-en-scene
Fail to deliver offered services agreed with another user, unless the ‘employer user’ does not meet your mutually agreed contract or cancels an internship
You may not solicit funds or donations from other parties on the site.
You may not post business or franchise opportunities.
The collection of information about other users, without their consent.
11. BACKGROUND CHECKS.
The University Intern Ltd does NOT conduct background checks of any individual or company with a registered account on www.mise-en-scene.co.uk. Users acknowledge and agree to use their own due diligence when evaluating, contacting, and participating with other members on the site for any business relationship.
12. COMPLIANCE WITH INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAWS.
When accessing the site, you agree to respect the intellectual property rights of others; both individual persons and business entities. Your use of the site is at all times governed by and subject to laws regarding copyright ownership and use of intellectual property. You agree not to upload, download, display, perform, transmit, or otherwise distribute any information or content (collectively, “Content”) in violation of any third party’s trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights. You agree to abide by United Kingdom and International laws regarding copyright ownership and the use of intellectual property, and you shall be solely responsible for any violations of any relevant laws and for any infringements of third party rights caused by any ‘Content’ you provide or transmit, or that is provided or transmitted using your Registered User Account. The burden of proving that any Content does not violate any laws or third party rights rests solely with you the user.
13. INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT.
You agree not to upload, download, display, perform, transmit, or otherwise distribute any Content that (a) is obscene, defamatory, libelous, pornographic, threatening, or abusive; (b) encourages or advocates conduct that could give rise to civil liability, violate any applicable local, national, or foreign law or regulation, or constitute a criminal offence; (c) advertises or solicits funds or is a solicitation for goods or services; or (d) provides medical advice to other users: including physical and psychological. Mise-en-scene reserves the right to terminate your account, receipt, transmission, or other distribution of any such material using the site, and to delete such material from its servers. Mise-en-scene intends to liaise fully with any law enforcement officials and agencies in the investigation of any violation of applicable laws and/or these Terms.
We may read all correspondence posted to and through the Website and download or access, and test (if necessary), all uploaded files, programs and websites related to your use of the Website for the purpose of investigating fraud and for risk management and related purposes.
14. FEEDBACK AND REVIEWS
Users acknowledge that feedback and reviews belong solely to Mise-en-scène Ltd, notwithstanding that we permit you to use it on our website (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) while you remain an active user. You may not undermine the integrity of the feedback and review system and we are entitled to terminate your account in our own discretion should you breach these terms and conditions. You may not use your Booker, Booked or Buyer feedback in any real or virtual venue other than on our website (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) without our written permission.
15. CONFIDENTIALITY AND PASSWORDS.
When you register and open an account to access or use the site, you must complete the registration process by providing the complete and accurate information requested on the registration form, all fields deemed important and necessary for the site to function are marked by an asterisk (*). You will be asked to generate a user name and password for your account, in which you are deemed entirely responsible for maintaining confidentiality. You may not use the account, username, or password of someone else at any time. You agree to notify Mise-en-scène Ltd (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) immediately of any unauthorised use of your account, user name, or password. Mise-en-scène Ltd (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) shall not be liable for any loss that you incur as a result of someone else using your password, either with or without your knowledge. Mise-en-scène Ltd makes no guarantees about the currency, accuracy, quality, or content of the information provided by such affiliate and partner sites, and Mise-en-scène Ltd assumes no responsibility for unintended, misleading, inaccurate, objectionable, or unlawful content that may reside on those sites. Similarly, occasionally in connection with your use of the site, you may have access to content items and materials (including, but not limited to, websites) that are owned by third parties. 20. PROHIBITED USES.

We reserve the right to suspend a User withdrawal request if the source of the funds is suspected to be fraudulent. Should Mise-en-scène discover fraudulent activity then contact will be made with the relevant policing bodies. Mise-en-scène reserves the right to delete and disable your user account and any associations related to the user account.
You acknowledge and agree that in the event that a dispute arises between you and another User in relation to any project that you will first attempt to resolve any differences that you have in relation to such Project, including in relation to the quality of the services provided. If an agreement cannot be agreed during the dispute then permission is given to Mise-en-scène (after initial contact via our contact page) to decide the best cause of action for the dispute based on the evidence provided.
Mise-en-scène Ltd does not guarantee that all disputes can or will be settled and is not liable for any losses incurred as outlined within these terms and conditions. If you have a dispute with one or more Users, you release Mise-en-scène Ltd and the associated employees from all claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes.
Mise-en-scène Ltd is not responsible for employers cancelling a project resulting in a no payment. This is outlined in depth within [17. NO WARRANTIES, 18. LIMITED LIABILITY].
22. NO ENDORSEMENTS.
The mere appearance of any company or individual onwww.mise-en-scene.co.uk is not indicative of any endorsement by us (Mise-en-scène Ltd) of said company or individual. As a matter of company policy, we do not endorse any other parties. Companies will be promoted as part of the ‘membership packages’ purchased by individual companies and are not deemed a form of endorsement.
You agree to indemnify Mise-en-scène Ltd (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk) for certain of your omissions and acts. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mise-en-scène Ltd (www.mise-en-scene.co.uk), its affiliates, directors, employees, consultants, agents, and representatives from any and all third party claims, liability, losses, damages, and/or costs (including reasonable attorney fees and costs) arising from your access to or use of the site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement, or infringement by any other user of your account, of any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity. Mise-en-scène Ltd will notify you promptly of any such claim, liability, loss, or demand, and will provide you with reasonable assistance, at your expense, in defending any such claim, liability, loss, cost, or damage

25. EMAIL COMMUNICATION.
When you contact us or register for a membership on the site, you consent to receive communications from us electronically via email. You agree that any such communication via email shall constitute legal written communication in compliance with any and all legal notice requirements.
26. GOVERNING LAW.
These Terms, this agreement and all obligations shall be construed and governed in accordance with the laws of England. You hereby irrevocably consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in all disputes arising out of or related to the use of the site.
27. SEVERABILITY; WAIVER.
If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any of these Terms to be unenforceable, all other terms and conditions will remain in full force and be unaffected. No waiver of any breach of any provision of these Terms shall constitute a waiver of any prior, concurrent, or subsequent breach of the same or any other provisions hereof, and no waiver shall be effective unless made in writing and signed by an authorised representative of the waiving party.
28. NO LICENSE.
Nothing contained on the site should be understood as granting you a license to use any of the logos, service marks, or trademarks owned by Mise-en-scène Ltd or by any third party.
All disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be finally settled by arbitration in an English Court of Law. Both parties shall bear equally the cost of arbitration (exclusive of legal fees and expenses, all of which each party shall bear separately). All decisions of the arbitrator shall be final and binding on both parties and enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction in England.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, if a party breaches its obligations under this paragraph, the non-breaching party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. You and Mise-en-scène Ltd agree to be bound by this arbitration clause upon the formation of this contract and neither party shall have the right to alter, amend or modify this arbitration clause notwithstanding any future amendments to these Terms.
We may update these Terms in light of changes to our business practices or in light of new laws applicable to our business. Mise-en-scène reserves the right to amend these Terms and if an amendment is sought by Mise-en-scène Ltd, we shall:
Provide you notice by email of said change at least 30 days prior to the change going into force.
Clearly publish on the home page that the Terms have changed and will provide the required details, the date the changes will go into effect and Contact information so you may discuss the proposed changes with us.
Notwithstanding any amendments pursued under this clause, neither party to this agreement shall have the right to change the Arbitration clause included herein.
Should an English court of competent jurisdiction rule this Amendment provision invalid, then this Amendment clause shall be terminated as part of this agreement. All amendments to the Terms shall be forward looking.

Please note that by checking the “Terms and Conditions” check box when registering an account with us, you contractually agree to this policy agreement and make your personal data on your ‘Profile’ page visible to other website users.
(2) Removal or Modification of personal information. Users can remove or modify any of their personally identifiable information by logging into their account. If you encounter any problems or have any questions regarding this procedure, please contact us directly through our contact page.
